We could not exist without our group of dedicated volunteers who spend countless hours in preparation of our capital campaigns. The money raised allow us to provide comprehensive treatment for patients who would not be able to afford needed dental treatment.

MEET OUR DENTAL TEAM
DWIGHT JENNINGS ASHBY, DDS
Dr. Dwight Ashby has been practicing as a pediatric dentist in the Harrisburg area for over 35 years. Born and raised in Indiana, he graduated from Purdue University. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and continued his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has dedicated his career to providing exceptional care and compassionate treatment of his special needs patients
In 2014, Dr. Ashby created A Gift Of Smiles to help close the financial gaps and access to care that exist in dental healthcare for people with special needs and volunteers his services to A Gift Of Smiles patients. He retired from private practice October, 2022 and now is focusing on increasing the impact of AGOS by including care for children under the age of five with severe dental caries.
DENTAL HYGIENISTS
Sara and Stephanie bring in many years of dental hygiene experience working with patients with physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities. Their compassionate approach and commitment to accessible, patient-centered care align with our mission to ensure that every patient receives the dignity, comfort, and support they deserve.
DENTAL ASSISTANTS
Lori is an essential member of our dental team. She is extremely knowledgeable with experience taking care of special needs patients with complex medical requirements. Under the direction of Dr. Ashby, she assists with the management of these patients in both the operating room and the outpatient office setting.
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Shanna serves as the Office Administrator for A Gift of Smiles, bringing with her years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her background reflects a deep commitment to service and advocacy, particularly for individuals with disabilities. Shanna is passionate about ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, dignified access to care in a supportive environment.
She currently lives in Camp Hill with her husband and their two children.
